Kim Dunne

Kim Dunne

Kim Dunne is an Advancement professional with 17 years of experience at Catholic elementary and high schools in the Archdiocese of Mobile, Alabama.  She served as the Director of Advancement for St. Ignatius Catholic School (prek-8) for five years and for McGill-Toolen Catholic High School for 12 years.  She has experience managing and growing annual fund programs at the elementary and high school levels, as well as other fundraising efforts, including special events, Day of Giving campaigns, and Planned Giving programs.

Kim played a crucial role in a highly successful capital campaign that raised over $22 million for McGill-Toolen Catholic High School and helped triple total annual giving.   Her leadership also saw the launch of Dancing with the Stars-Jacket Style, the most successful event fundraiser in the school's history, doubling the amount raised annually and bringing together over 1000 members of the school's community each year.   During the Covid-19 pandemic, Kim and her team devised strategies to keep parents, donors, and students engaged remotely. Notably, they established  the Covid-19 Scholarship Fund, which raised $250,000 in scholarships for families affected by the pandemic.

In addition to fundraising, Kim's Advancement office was responsible for enrollment and recruitment efforts, marketing and public relations, strategic planning, and volunteer management.  She employed the strategies learned from many Partners in Mission Summer Institutes, Leadership Conferences, and consulting services to create a successful advancement program.

Kim graduated from Tulane University in 1991 with a degree in Journalism and Marketing.  Prior to her career in Catholic School Advancement, Kim served as the Campaign Director for The United Way of Northeast Florida and as the Director of the NationsBank Foundation for the state of Florida.  She took a few years off to raise her triplets, but when she relocated to her husband's hometown of Mobile, Alabama, and enrolled her children in Catholic school, she had an opportunity to work at St. Ignatius.  When the position at the high school became available, she "graduated" with her children, and they started at McGill-Toolen together.

Kim recently retired from her position at McGill-Toolen Catholic and is looking forward to sharing her years of experience and her passion for advancing the mission of Catholic education.
