Born and raised in NYC, Jessica Vitz McGibbon attended Catholic school in Greenwich Village (there were five within walking distance of her home), as well as a Jesuit high school (Loyola High School) and university (Georgetown). Along with her love for the Catholic faith and commitment to the uniqueness of Catholic education, Jessica brings her years of experience with curriculum, program, and enrollment development and management to Partners in Mission.
Jessica has worn many different hats. She taught medieval and English survey courses at Barnard College and New York University. She later co-managed and taught at a Classical Catholic Homeschooling cooperative, developing their Middle School, Catechism, and Shakespeare programs. In 2020, she became the Head of the Lower School at Sacred Heart Greenwich, renovating the Lower School wing, restructuring the Preschool, deepening the commitment to the Sacred Heart Catholic charism, and introducing exciting new programming. Lower School enrollment experienced a 20% increase under her leadership.
After her three-years at Sacred Heart Greenwich, Jessica went on to be the COO of the School of Sacred Music in NYC for which she not only managed all the administrative aspects of the School’s programming, but also developed their print and digital marketing materials. She strategized with the CEO, Board, and curriculum experts in the development and execution of performances and learning institutes.
Jessica has a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from Princeton University and a BA in French from Georgetown University. She and her husband, Jim, recently moved to Nashville from New York and are parishioners at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Sylvan Park. They have eight children, ages twenty-four to seven.
