Marian Catholic High School is a widely-known and respected diocesan high school community located in the coal regions of Northeastern Pennsylvania. Formed in 1954 from the consolidation of three Catholic high schools in Carbon and Schuylkill counties, its Rush Township campus has been known as Colt Country since 1964. Marian Catholic currently draws from a 30-plus mile radius, serving 300 co-ed students, and is supported by five partner schools, while extending a warm welcome to students of all faiths. The gathering of students, faculty, staff, parents, and alumni from this wide geographical area and from varied cultural and religious backgrounds helps to generate the unique spirit of the Marian Family.

Steeped in traditions and storied legacies, the Marian Catholic High School community is filled with passionate and dedicated stakeholders who give freely of their time, talent, and treasure in support of its mission. The school is blessed with over 9,000 distinguished alumni located across the nation, many of which who are coming of age and success to play a growing philanthropic role in support of the school. The next Director of Advancement will be expected to bring the visionary leadership, data-driven strategic planning, and proven capacity to engage alumni, parents, parents of alumni, friends, and other significant sources of philanthropy in support of implementing the school’s aggressive vision.

While the next Director of Advancement must have a demonstrated capacity for broad institutional advancement in a Catholic college preparatory environment, it is possible that the prospective candidate could have attained this experience through a variety of different career paths, including primary, secondary, or tertiary education; non-profit management; or work in the corporate or public sector. Regardless of the career path, the successful candidate must have knowledge of and a proven capacity to identify, cultivate, and develop stakeholder relationships and philanthropic partnerships that will ensure Marian Catholic’s continued accessibility, success, and sustainability so it can be enjoyed by the region’s future generations.

Finally, the next Director of Advancement will be expected to bring the energy, charisma, and both the executive administration and advancement skills necessary for this school-community to build on its extensive traditions, while delivering excellence in a Christ-centered and faith-filled college preparatory education.
