Tom Brodnicki serves as a senior member of Partners in Mission team. After nine years of seminary study with the Augustinians concluding with a Master’s Degree from Villanova University, Tom Brodnicki began a highly successful forty year career in advancing the Mission of Catholic education among scores of parish elementary schools, religiously sponsored and diocesan secondary schools, and Catholic colleges and universities.
While teaching at St. Rita High School during a time of serious enrollment decline in the early 1970s, Tom took charge of student recruitment. After growing enrollment back from 1,200 back to 1,800 the principal asked Tom to take on the task of raising money. Subsequently St. Rita became well known for its development program and Tom, in a consultant role, then helped some twenty other Catholic High Schools establish enrollment and fund raising programs to advance their Mission. Today Brodnicki is recognized as the “Grandfather” of Catholic School Advancement in Chicago where he is credited as a founder of the sixty school member Archdiocesan Development Council.
In addition to his work with Catholic elementary and secondary schools, Tom is highly regarded for his creativity and enthusiasm for Catholic Education while establishing and building successful advancement programs as the Vice President for University Advancement at Lewis University (Christian Brothers) and at the University of St. Francis (Franciscans) – both in the southwest suburbs of Chicago.
After relocating to Boston in 2001 to establish the first professional advancement program at Curry College in Milton – an independent college that, today, is widely recognized among New England’s best liberal arts colleges, Tom decided to work as an independent consultant. In this capacity, Tom served as the Interim Vice President for University Advancement to manage their twenty-five person advancement team, sustain the momentum of a capital campaign and assist with the search for a new Vice President. With these assignments complete, Tom enthusiastically accepted an invitation to team with Partners in Mission where he has served dozens of Catholic schools and dioceses across the country since 2007.
Beyond his professional advancement work in support of Catholic education, Tom served as the first Chair of the Diocesan Pastoral Council for the Diocese of Joliet from 1990 – 1995 while serving as President of the Parish Council at St. Dennis Parish in Lockport, IL for twelve years where he led two capital campaigns for new facilities and renovations. Today Tom is facilitating a Strategic Planning program at his home parish school in Canton, MA.
With grown children and grandchildren in Chicago and Orlando, Tom and his wife, Nancy, a programs administrator for the Yawkey Foundation, live in Canton, Massachusetts.
